Made from local Devon oak bark tanned leather and incorporating solid brass or stainless steel hardware, this handmade leather belt is something your grandchildren will be arguing over.
This particular leather contains so many variations in colour and markings that each belt made with it is completely unique. The leather is produced at a local tannery that dates back to Roman times and uses a traditional English tanning process, celebrating craftsmanship beyond just the creation of the belt itself.
Nestled in the town of Colyton, J&FJ Baker's is Britain's last remaining oak bark tannery using traditional techniques to create this very special local leather. Tanned with only stripped oak bark and stream water, from start to finish this leather goes through a 18 month long process and the finished product speaks for itself. It is strong, versatile and both looks and smells incredible. This is truly a belt for leather lovers.
As a classic staple, we know it needs to stand the test of time. So, we’ve crafted this belt to both last and age beautifully. With proper care, it will be a part of your wardrobe for many years to come. As a classic staple, it makes a great gift too.
The Chicago screws that will be used with the stainless steel buckles are nickel plated brass.
Each leather belt is made from a 4.5 - 5.5 mm (approx) thick piece of oak bark bridle butt and is 38mm (1 1/2”) wide.
